Franja Partisan Hospital
Closed due to storm damage.
A monument of humanity.
The Franja Partisan Hospital is the first in Slovenia to have been awarded the European Heritage Label.
The selection includes a diverse range items, from spoon to scalpel, one could say. Common to all, however, is that they were used by people working and receiving treatment at Franja.
The hospital became a monument on practically the same day that it was abandoned by the wounded and staff. Owing to the features of nature in the Pasice gorge, the maintenance and conservation of the hospital pose a special challenge.
